On the way home from work I stopped at Michael's Seafood on Jeff Hwy. for Friday's din din. Been thinking about this for a few days. Wanted to make a simple salad with shrimp. I like to poach the Shrimp in beer. My recipe is adapted from a Pierre Franney recipe. Picked up 2#s of these large beauties for $3.50/lb

Got the poaching liquid simmering. One can of beer, garlic, red pepper flakes, whole allspice, mustard seed, dill seed, coarse ground back pepper, lemon juice, and the sea salt. Let that simmer for about 20-30 minutes

In goes the shrimp and cover with the lid. Let that simmer at a low temp.

After I turned them over, turned off the heat, uncover and let finish cooking in the liquid for a few minutes.

All done and in the bowl waiting to be peeled for the salad

The salad was Romain lettuce, tomato, slice Crimini mushroom, boiled egg sliced, raw onion, and Ranch dressing. I have to say these shrimps were very good. Full of flavor with a nice sweetness to them. A nice yum din din :)-JimZ
